A discussion with somebody I knew went along these lines.
I can't write a serial as I need to concentrate on the novella and doing it a bit every week is not for me.
I replied that I admired her for being able to stick to one story, as I need the output of many ideas to write well.
Having just ended my serial prematurely. It dawned on, it isn't the writing that is the difference but how you approach the work. Whereas I was willing to put small amounts on line each week, my friend felt she had to wait for the end product.
Over the 15 weeks of The Word, I wrote almost 20,000 words
